History

This iconic RS500 competed in 1988/1989 BTCC seasons at the hands of Chris Hodgetts and was originally built by Brooklyn Ford (Dave Lampitt) and still runs in full Group A Race spec and in its period livery. Currently competing in the Group A class of the Super Touring Car Championship at circuits such as Donnington, Silverstone and Brands Hatch.

This exceptional example competed in the 1989 British Touring Car Championship at the hands of Chris Hodgetts. Built to Group

A spec, the car has a 500 bhp engine. The car was run by JQMF Engineering, with Chris alongside drivers Gerett Van Kouwen, Pierre Dieudonne and Tomas Mezera.

Notable drivers in this era included the likes of Andy Rouse, Robb Gravett and Tim Harvey.

Brooklyn raced in The Dunlop Motorsport News Saloons Championship in 2010 gaining a few respectable results including three 2nd places, not bad for the first time out in 20 years!

Classic Thunder in 2011 and again a few 2nd a 3rd place finishes. For 2012 Brooklyn competed in a new series Classic Touring Cars at The Silverstone Classic where up-against the Super Touring Cars which raced in early 2000, very sorted front wheel drive cars, we performed very well and was the fastest RS500, this format will carry on for 2013 with four races in the calendar.
